ABOUT ME

My name is Federica Marsili, and I translate and proofread texts of various kinds, as long as they are in Italian, English or Spanish.


In the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to work both on literary texts from the late 19th and early 20th century, and on very recent technical texts (websites, university handouts, audiovisual productions, etc.).


My motto is: With the right preparation, no text is out of reach!


My primary goal is to offer translations that not only respect the original text, but are also perfectly adapted to the target culture and language. The best translation, in my opinion, is the one that does not come across as such. When reading a text, one must have the impression that it was written in that very language: that is the magic of the translator, that is the true essence of communication! Something that an artificial intelligence, no matter how formally precise, will never be able to give you.

My translations are precise, studied down to the last detail to render not only the formal aspect of the source text, but also the entire scaffolding of feelings and impressions generated in the reader of the original language.

text editing

A well-written text does not just have to be grammatically correct, it also has to be fluent and coherent. Through text revision and proofreading, I improve the quality of the text, working on syntax, punctuation, structure and fluency, ensuring that the result is error-free and optimised for reading.

  • The type of service you need.*
    Translation, proofreading, or one-to-one tuition?

  • The type of text we are going to work on. 
    A mystery novel? An instruction manual? A website?

  • The language of the source text (and the target language, if it is a translation).
    Remember that I only work with Italian, English, and Spanish!

  • The length of the text. 
    Ideally, I would like to know the number of standard pages, but if you don't know how to calculate it, just tell me the number of Word or PDF pages and we will see the rest together!

  • The deadline.
    When will you need the work completed?
